I learned, yesterday, that Justin Sun has blocked some of the larger witnesses on the Steem chain. Of major concern is Blocktrades, which was my main vehicle for exchanging Steem. This, along with the stagnant price of Steem, and the need to not divert attention to too many social networks, has led me to decide to leave Steem. I don't see a future for me there.

Moving out has not been easy to do. I have some Steem locked up in leases. Some of that is expiring soon. The rest has as much as three months to go. On top of that, many of the tools that allow you to undelegate are no longer functional. Most of what I am finding depends on SteemConnect, which is not working. So, there are some delegations I can't get back without installing cruft on my computer.

Of course, there's the 13 week power down wait.

And, living in Texas, I have limited options for other exchanges. Binance.us is not available for Texans. Some other exchanges I found listed as offering Steem exchange do not. I opened accounts for nothing. Fortunately, Binance.com still allows me to do some things. Either they have not caught on that I'm in the U.S. or I haven't made any prohibited transactions. For now, that's my only option for cashing out Steem. Even Poloniex wasn't an option.

Hopefully my avenue of escape isn't blocked in the coming weeks. If I am unable to cash out of Steem, I suppose I can just walk away. $200 is not life-changing. It's probably not worth the aggravation.
